Project: Royal British Legion Financial Capability Research
When: Jan 2012 to March 2012
Where: Reading Room
The Royal British Legion wanted to improve financial capability amongst UK service personal.
There is substantial evidence that service personal do not manage their finances as effectively as the average UK citizen.
This project was to develop an understanding of the key areas of financial stress amongst UK Service personnel, which groups were most effected and how best to help.
Actions I took
Led a strategy workshop with senior stakeholders to establish project goals.
Led a focus group with welfare officers to understand their prospective.
Led focus groups with members of Army, Navy and RAF to understand sources of financial difficulty.
Defined content and functional elements in an information architecture.
A set of clear insights that guided design and content teams.
Huge boost in client confidence in the project. The client signed off this stage of the project without reservation.
